Iglesia Ni Cristo’s Worldwide Walk for Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) breaks the Guinness World Records for “The Largest Charity Walk”.
The Record holder plaque was received by Iglesia Ni Cristo General Auditor Glicerio Santos Jr.
The plaque reads:
“Guinness World Records Certificate
The largest charity walk was achieved by Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) WorldWide Walk at Quirino Grandstand, in Manila Philippines on February 15, 2014.”
According to reports from Net25, an INC owned commercial TV station, Guinness World of Records had tallied more than 175,000 participants as of the announcement of the awards.

After the announcement, Net25 released an image congratulating the achievement set by Iglesia Ni Cristo through its socio-livelihood arm Felix Y. Manalo Foundation.
According to reports, the total number of Iglesia Ni Cristo members in the venue is estimated to be around 1.5 million.

Since January this year, the global religion Iglesia Ni Cristo, in line with its Centennial year celebration, is said to be vying for the Guinness World Records for Largest Charity Walk.
Before the title was successfully achieved today by INC, the title holder of the said category is Singapore Press Holdings Limited which organized The Paper Big Walk 2000 which was participanted by 77,500 participants on May 21, 2000. The said walk aims to promote Healthy living in Singapore and proceeds of the walk went to education, sports and charity organization.
The Iglesia Ni Cristo Worldwide Walk for Typhoon Haiyan will be organized simultaneously in all the ecclesiastical districts in the Philippines of the Iglesia Ni Cristo and in key cities in 6 continents. Only on February 15 will the final list of participating cities of the world will it be revealed. Currently, INC has congregations and presence in 110 countries and a religion of more than 80 races, according to its official publication God’s Message.
The proceeds of the INC Worldwide Walk will support the religion’s ongoing rehabilitation efforts in affected towns and cities in the Philippines.
Typhoon Yolanda, internationally known as Typhoon Haiyan, battered and washed out several towns and cities in the Philippines, leaving 6,201 individuals dead, 28,626 injured, and 1,785 missing as of January 29, 2014.
The destructive typhoon considered as the strongest of its class affected more than 16 million Filipinos in 44 provinces composed of 591 municipalities and 57 cities.
